Napoleon, the Republic, the Republics

On Friday, 18 March 2022, the exhibition “Napoleon, the Republic, the Republics (1797-1805) – Relations among San Marino, Bonaparte and the Sister Republics” was inaugurated at Saint Francis’ Painting Gallery and Museum. This exhibition celebrates the bicentenary of the death of Napoleon and retraces his Italian campaign and his relations with the Republic of San Marino. It will be open until 4 September 2022.

The exhibition, curated by the State Archive, displays a selection of documents, works of art, books, ancient weapons, stamps and coins reflecting the importance that the historical events of the Napoleonic era had for San Marino.
